Im the machinist at work that gets called upon to run new projects for the first run. They use me because Im detail oriented, and try to be a perfectionist. Sometimes this causes disagreements between me and the programmer. The problem I had this morning was strictly cosmetic and had nothing to do with the functionality of the part. So when I brought it up, I just knew I was going to have to interact with the programmer. Something I dread. I expected him to shrug his shoulders and say Youre being anal again. He did not. He actually thanked me for bringing it to his attention! And this time he did not try to win my seal of approval with fake flattery, small talk and unfunny humor. Best interaction weve ever had! Thats how I like things to go! Im quiet. No amount of persuasion will change that! It doesnt mean I dont like you.
