Im thrown off course a little, its hard to promote parties when feeling loss and the suffering of loved ones mourning. So if you can bear with me, I have to bring it back to a more personal place, the root of why I provide music rings truer in hard times. In music we forget. We forget our thoughts. We stop thinking. About work. About stress. About insecurities. About life. We feel wherever we allow music to take us. Sometimes we want to feel like were big pimpin in the club, brushing off our shoulders, living that large life for a moment. Sometimes we want to just feel happy and dance dance dance with people who dont give a crap what we do or look like because they are after the same thing. Sometimes we want to let all the sensuality and energy that is inside us exude, and be the hottest thing on that dance floor, because deep down we really are, but were molded to believe there is no room for that in every day life. Sometimes we wanna feel that ridiculous bass line hit us in the pit of our stomach, vibrate the center of our chest, see the whole dance floor drop n get low, because theres something about that low end frequency that moves us to another level of fun and holy sh*t! Sometimes we want to connect with something spiritual and feel the energy that exists with in us and outside us and goes on regardless of death…. Whatever the motivation, there is something about music that allows us to elevate out of our every day beliefs about ourselves and the confines of our lives. There is something about music that allows us to live a different existence for a few hours. Whatever your musical preference, we seek that same experiential shift - through genres and through time. From serious banging techno to fun and funky bass music, from stark underground rooms, to packed glitzy clubs, from massive festivals back through time and across continents to the days and spaces when people gathered every weekend to be moved by orchestras performing classical music, or soaring operas, or tribal drum circles, or ancient chants, or piano being played by children after dinner… Music is a gift; an opportunity to live out loud; an invitation to celebration; a catalyst for communion; a gateway to peace. If ya want it … :) 2 shows this Friday: JUSTIN MARTIN, TINHEAD, UNCLE RYAN @ Oak SASSMOUTH, DJ SHIVA, TUSABES @ Studio 200 Bass music, ghetto tech and tech house at Oak, or full on Techno at Studio. Whatever your preference, world class quality from top to bottom, a place, a space, to get down.. Ill be losing/finding myself on a dance floor somewhere.. see you there. #BeApart
