Im trying to learn breeding, genetics, coring, etc. Have a question for breeding my English Mastiff, too, lol, but will find a group for that! I have two what ifs, please help. From what Ive learned since having my. OTTBs, they, as a breed, only have maybe 4 basic colors, possibly 5. Bay, Chestnut and Gray being what Ive seen the most. I think Black too. If I bred a Chestnut or lighter bay TB to a (paint/pinto?) Standardbred, with either reddish chestnut and white or a black and white pattern, what do yall think Id get, for color? ( purely for my own horse, for life) From what Ive read, a X between the TB and SB would produce a helluva a good horse, temperament-wise, work ethic and affectionate. TIA
