Im trying to learn the blog speak but every now and then I run - TopicsExpress

Im trying to learn the blog speak but every now and then I run across a word or phrase that is just ambiguous enougth to be confusing. Case in point, if somone says your blogs are snarky does that mean they are informative, humorous or rude? Do blog speak words change meaning over time? Back in the 1940s if you said something was terrific it was bad. As in, I have a terrific headache. Or that Xmas song where they say everybodys going home for the holidays and from the Atlantic to the Pacific the traffic is terrific. At one time, square was a positive thing. A square deal or a square meal. Or he will always treat you squarely. A good carpenter always made sure things were square. But in my youth square meant somebody who was an old fogey, somebody not cool. Cool at one time meant aloof or indifferent, but the teens changed it to mean something good. Snarky seems like a terrific word, possibly even cool, but I might just be an old square and have misread it completely.
