Im trying to take a break, but I cant resist making the occasional comment in repsonse to some posting or another on some page or another. Today, one of these led to me being called - again - a Jew-Hater. So - again - I feel I have no choice but to respond. This is an edited version of my reply: Yisrael: I am a Jew. Let me repeat that; I AM A JEW. I am a PROUD Jew, PROUD of Jewish history, PROUD of Jewish culture, and PROUD to be know to the world as a Jew. I do not hide the fact that I am a Jew, I PROCLAIM myself as a Jew and I CONFRONT anti-Semitism in all its forms whenever it presents itself to me, and it has done at times in ways that have cost me. So for you to call me a Jew-hater is a deep and profound insult which you should withdraw without reservation. What I DO hate is the complete and utter betrayal of the Jewish people by the Israeli Zionist sect which has the arrogance to presume to speak for all Jews when its actions are so opposed to basic humanity. I think people like you put forward the Hasbara line that to be anti-Israel is to be anti-Jewish because you are psychologically incapable of recognising and dealing with the full depth and horror of Israels persecution of the Palestinian people. You cannot handle the truth which is so obvious that the Israeli government is basing its policies on a version of those invented by Hitler and his cronies for Germany. You cannot handle the truth that what Israel is doing to the Palestinians has been heavily influenced by what the Nazis did to the Jews. You cannot handle this truth, so you find any way you can of denigrating those of us PROUD Jews who criticise Israel, even when your criticisms make absolutely no sense. You have no rational argument, so you descend to irrational insult. I am waiting to hear from an Israeli Zionist who will argue on the basis of observable fact, not simply on unproven assertion and personal attack.
