Im usually a person who can take a joke, but i have just come - TopicsExpress

Im usually a person who can take a joke, but i have just come across this and couldnt ignore it. 6 months ago, i was lying in hospital with a feeding tube down my throat, barely able to lift my head off my pillow. This was the terrifying result of 2 years of starving myself, and putting those i love through complete hell in the process. I was constantly exhausted and falling asleep, always uncomfortably cold, i had blurred vision and slowed speech, i lost my hair, i lost my concentration, i lost my fun and bubbly personality, i was made to stop dancing, driving and working, i had to drop out of my uni course, i was pushed in a wheelchair and fed through a tube, and i have ended up spending over 6 months in a specialist unit over 300 miles away from my family and friends. This illness is so so unbearable and i would never wish it on anyone so please please, next time you see something like this, remember that it couldnt be further from the truth. Eating disorders are not, and never will be, a joke. They are not an achievement, and they are certainly not glamorous in any way...
