Im watching the first of the National Geographic Rifftrax specials... And up comes a segment on Koalas. Im thinking aw cute! And then the narrator (not the rifftrax guys, mind you) proceeds to tell me all the things I NEVER wanted to know about Koalas. For starters, they evolved as couch potatoes... Their diet of eucalyptus and gum tree leaf takes so much energy to even digest that they basically have no energy for anything else. AND to be able to develop the ability to digest it in the first place, the baby koalas go from drinking moms milk to ingesting her diarrhea (which they get by nuzzling moms anus) before moving on to solids. Also they are incontinent and excrete all over themselves from both sides. AND ON TOP OF IT ALL apparently 85% of the Koala population have Chlamydia. Nope... Not so cute anymore.
