Imagine entire life working earning a living almost never resting - TopicsExpress

Imagine entire life working earning a living almost never resting then comes the time to retire you have a pension coming your way each month to satisfy a reasonable quality of life in your mannerism. But what really happens is the pension you earned is taxable income the treasury department will want a cut of your earnings. How do you manage surviving you have this health issue and that health issue? What commonly happens is you have to turn over your pension and social security over to the government so you get this and that given to you because you are really old and useless. I feel sad for dad and others who are expected to fall in line with the rest of the those who paid hard into the social security funds only to hauled off to pasture called a nursing home. In the Filipino culture my ex husband and in the Irish culture of my family we dont send our parents off to pasture we keep our parents in our home. We take care of them. I am told my dad is declining he is deteriorating. Sure he is not like he once was still you dont interfere with a guy who has earned his vacation time. Like how many years dad has. Exactly he has many years to live and do as he likes. We can encourage dad to come out of his bedroom simply to watch television or join us for a meal together. It is a lot of effort on his part to leave the comfort of his bedroom. He has muscle and joint pain from osteoarthritis/degeneration. He has survived stroke. He lives with Parkinsons disease. He was diagnosed with a very complicated form of dementia. Now imagine this share with me how you perceive our futures would be if we all spent more quality of time with our parents. If you are like me only one parent is left you try to love your parent to honor thy parent. It aint best to abandon your parent. Dad has spent some time in nursing homes it was more stressful for him. Dad was abused in two nursing homes. I tried daily when he was in them to see his care was quality for him. Often I was lied to as to what medications were given to him. I am dads advocate. Sure technically he can speak for himself but in actually he is not really cognitive. He has Parkinsons Lewy Body Dementia. He is an oak tree. The way the nursing homes treated him was if he were a maple tree. We have a huge oak tree in our yard. We have a maple tree as well. I watch and learn more from the oak tree. Think about it isnt a oak tree giving more shade, needing more love to bloom. Lewy Body Dementia is not like Alzheimers Dementia.
