Imagine what 8 year old OMAR must be thinking—Where am I? When are my people coming? Who are all these dogs barking at me? Who are all these people walking around? Is anybody ever going to take me out of this cage? ACC’s answer to those questions is that at noon tomorrow, OMAR will finally come out of that cage at Manhattan ACC but only to be euthanized. Tonight, OMAR needs that special person out there who understands exactly what this older boy is going through, who reads that’s he’s got 8 year old eyes and teeth, never been neutered, has some wart like things on his neck but was otherwise in decent health when he got there. OMAR needs that one person who knows how to treat him with the respect his years should have earned him, someone who will give him a soft bed, some easy toys, some good food, long slow walks in the neighborhood to meet some new ‘buds, and a commitment from a human that he clearly hasn’t had. If that’s you, start working on fostering or adopting OMAR. But it has to be right now. At noon tomorrow, ACC won’t hesitate to make OMAR gone forever.
