Imam Hussein (AS) was born in 3 shaaban in the year of 4 in terms of Islamic new year. However, Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was so happy about him being born to life and as soon as he heard about the incident, he went straight away to his daughter house to congratulate her. The first thing Prophet Mohammad (SAW) did to Imam Hussein (AS) was that he said the Ethan in his right ear and then in his left ear and he named him Hussein. In the 7th day of Imam Hussein (AS) birth, Imam Ali (AS) the father of Imam Hussein (AS) gave gifts which was basically food to all poor people. Although, Prophet Mohammad (SAW) loved his grandson a lot that he even cried when the angel jabriel who was the messenger between Allah and Prophet Mohammad (SAW) informed him what’s going to happen to Imam Hussein (AS) in the future. Prophet Mohammad (SAW) used to say that ‘’ Hussein is from me and I am from Hussein, he is an Imam and a son of Imam, and there will be 9 Imam’s from his descendants and the last of those Imam’s will be Imam Al Mahdi (AS) and he will show up at the end of the world and he will spread justice in the world ‘’ Imam Hussein (AS) lived with his grandfather Prophet Mohammad (SAW) for 6 years and he learned the moralities of his grandfather. After the death of Prophet Mohammad (SAW), he spent 30 years living with his father Imam Ali Bin Ali Talib (AS). However, when Imam Ali (AS) was the ruler, Imam Hussein (AS) was a soldier who sacrificed himself fighting for establishing Islam and justice. He also joined many battles such as ‘’ Al Jamal ‘’, ‘’ Sfeen ‘’, and ‘’ Nahrwan ‘’. After the death of Imam Ali (AS), The rulership was given to Imam Hassan (AS), the older brother of Imam Hussein (AS), and he supported his brother against the enemies of Islam. After Imam Hassan (AS) death, the rulership was given to Imam Hussein (AS). Moaweya was planning to prepare his son for being a ruler, although he knew that his son Yazid did not fit for that position as he always made fun of Islam and did things that Allah forbidden in Islam. Imam Hussein (AS) warned Moaweya for his plans but Moaweya did not listen to anyone and and forced people to vote for Yazid to be the ruler. After the death of Moaweya, the first thing Yazid did was that he sent a message to the ruler of ‘’ Al Madina ‘’ Al waleed in which he ordered him to get the rulership from Imam Hussein (AS) by the terms of forcing. Al Waleed invited Imam Hussein and presented him in front of Yazid and Imam Hussein (AS) knew that Yazid wanted to show people from that invitation that Imam Hussain(AS) accepted to give the rulership to Yazid. Therefore, Imam Hussein (AS) rejected Yazid. Al Waleed threatened Imam Hussein(AS) to death if he insisted on rejecting Yazid, where Imam Hussein (AS)main focus was for the good of the Islam and even though if he had to die for Islam. The Muslims in Al Koofa which is a city in Iraq, where sick of the conditions that they were in because of Yazid, and when they heared that Imam Hussain(AS) rejected Yazid, they sent off letters asking Imam Hussain(AS) for help and to spread justice. Imam Hussain (AS) received 10,000 letters from those Muslims in which the letters stated ‘’ Come to us grandson of Prophet Mohammad (SAW), we have no one to support us except you ‘’. Imam Hussein (AS) sent his ambassador which was his cousin ‘’ Muslim Ibn Aqeel ‘’ to Al Koofa. Muslim Ibn Aqeel was well welcomed to the city where those who wanted Imam Hussein (AS) to be a ruler reached 18,000 people. After that Muslim Ibn Aqeel was killed by the army of Yazid, everyone abandoned and betrayed Imam Hussain. Imam Hussein (AS) announced his rejection against Yazid, therefore Imam Hussein (AS) said in his will to one of his friends Mohammed Bin Al Hanafeya that ‘’ I came out not to spread the injustice in the world or the corruption in it, I came out to enjoin what is correct and forbid what is wrong and follow the message of my father Imam Ali, and my grandfather Prophet Mohammad (SAW) ‘’ Imam Hussein (AS) knew that he will be killed in a desert with his family and companions. But he wanted to enlighten the Muslims and wake them up and prove them that Yazid is a terrible man, and that Yazid would do anything just to reach the chair of ruler-ship even though if he had to kill the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (SAW). In 10th of Muharram (Ashoura) , the army of Yazid blocked the way of Imam Hussein (AS)convoy in a place that is known as ‘’ Karbala ‘’ near by a river called ‘’ Al Fourat ‘’. However, Imam Hussein (AS) and his family were prevented from water 3 days before Ashoura by Yazid. Although, Imam Hussein(AS) before the battle starting still kept lecturing the enemies in which he said ‘’ People, remember who am I first and then ask yourself if it is allowed for you to kill me, aren’t I the son of the daughter of your Prophet? And the son of the cousin of Prophet Mohammad? , Isn’t Hamza the master of Martyrs my uncle? Isn’t Jaffar Al Tayar my uncle? Or didn’t my grandfather Prophet Mohammad (SAW) tell you that I and my brother are the leaders of heaven? ‘’ Yazid and his followers knew what Imam Hussain (AS) is saying very well but it’s the satan who influenced them and they preferred living in humiliation with Yazid, and leaving Imam Hussein (AS) alone. They asked Imam Hussain (AS) to accept and give the ruler-ship to Yazid but Imam Hussein (AS) still rejected. The leader of the army of Yazid ‘’ Omar Bin Saad ‘’ ordered the army to attack Imam Hussein (AS) and his family, in which 50 men died as martyrs, and few people were left with Imam Hussein(AS) from his supporters and his family. They were attempting to death without having the aspects of fear and believing that they are on the right track and at the end they will go to heaven and will be rewarded. All Imam Hussein (AS) family and his supporters died as martyrs and he was left alone, therefore, Imam Hussein (AS) ordered who where left from his family to have patience and have endurance for the sake of god. Then he went on his horse fighting thousands of enemies alone until he felt down and was killed as a martyr. Above all, Omar Bin Saad, burned all the tents that where established by the convoy of Imam Hussein (AS), and captured all women and kids and took them to Al Koofa, However, Imam Hussein (AS) sister Zainab(AS) was also involved with those who were captured, and Imam Hussein (AS) son Ali Bin Al Hussein(AS). Zainab (AS) went beside her brother body and took her hands up to the sky and said ‘’God accepts this Eucharist from us ‘’ Why do we remember Imam Hussein? Imam Hussein (AS) sacrificed with everything that he owns for the pride of Islam and Muslims. He sacrificed his kids, women, his supporters, and himself for the sake of god. Imam Hussein(AS) taught the people how to attempt a revolution against the oppressors and corruption and he completed his life till his last day of death by praying and reading Quran even at the middle of the battle, that Imam Hussein (AS) Prayed in the battle and the arrows where all thrown up on him. Imam Hussein (AS) revolution was for Islam and for the sake of god. Therefore, Muslims always remember Imam Hussein (AS) with sadness especially in Ashoura. Imam Hussein (AS) lived 57 years in which he spent those years in spreading justice and helping people. The day of 10th Muharram was a normal day but when Imam Hussein (AS) died on that day, everything changed and all people from different countries on that day cry and remember him. Karbala was a desert that no one lives in it, and in today’s life it is a big city for knowledge and it is place where Imam Hussein (AS) grave is located. People think that Imam Hussein lost the battle in front of Yazid army, but in-fact it is Imam Hussein (AS) who won the battle over his enemies. The principles that Imam Hussein AS) died for are still alive, were Yazid and his followers all faded away and no one even remembers them. The enemies of Imam Hussein (AS) wanted to eliminate Imam Hussein (AS) but god wanted him to exist in life and after-life, and all what is left over for Yazid and his followers in life is people cursing them for what they did.
