Imam Jafar (as) said, ”One’s liver is cleansed, pressure (of sins) on heart is released and eye sight is improved upon breaking fast with warm water.” [Faroo-e-Kafi, tradition 2, vol. 3, pp. 330] Imam Mohammed Baqir (as) reported that Prophet Muhammad (sawa) would prefer to preferably break fast with some sweet, if not at table then would eat dates, in case of unavailability of any of these, then would drink warm water and say, it cleanses one’s stomach and liver, refreshes breath, strengths teeth, restores eye sight and relieves from ill feelings and relaxes nerves, stabilises digestion system, eliminates mucus, cools down stomach burnings and cures headache” [Faroo-e-Kafi, tradition 4, vol. 3, pp. 330]”
