Imo Intl Conference Centre to cost N1.5 billion The Imo State government says it will not spend more than N1.5 billion to complete The Imo International Conference Centre project which it started at its inception. The Governor of the state Owelle Rochas Okorocha who disclosed this while addressing the press during an inspection visit to the project site said that the project will be completed before the end of his year. He noted that the Imo International Conference Centre was greater than the Ahiajoku Convention Centre in capacity and standard and also comparing the cost of executing the two projects, Governor Okorocha described the N3.3 billion which the immediate past administration spent on Ahaijoku convention Centre as being on the high side. The State Chief Executive condemned the act of over inflating cost of projects and described it as inimical to the social economic development of the state. Governor Okorocha, who said that his administration will not tolerate any act of corruption promised to give account of all funds that the state has received since he took over the mantle of leadership of the state. He promised that his administration will continue to make available to the people of the state all the necessities of live for improved standard of living. Governor Okorocha then called for the co-operation of the people to enable his administration take them to the peak of infrastructural development.
