Important poster because so many people buy free range eggs and believe that makes it ethically okay. I used to do that myself prior to veganism. Interesting how the human mind is always looking for ways to excuses unethical behaviour, and that we dont want to think of ourselves as bad people even when we do things that harm others. Other examples of clever ways humanity pretends its doing no harm to animals: Temple Grandin designs for slaughterhouses, kosher and halal slaughter (approval of religious authorities makes it okay in the minds of some people), the humane myth, happy cow myth, the endorsement of food experts such as Michael Pollan or celebrity chefs, organic (how does this make it better for animals?), local meat, cartoons showing happy animals offering themselves to us, unsubstantiated claims that the product is sustainable or green, the statement that I love animals by those who eat them.
