Improved Carbine Cancelled- great article on the end of this program. "Reliability" is measured by MRBS (mean rounds between stoppages)- FIREClean tests have shown remarkable increases in reliability with ARs going 5,000+ rounds MRBS. Lucky Gunner Labs had a test showing 10,000+ rounds MRBS with XM193 ammo and FIREClean in 110F AZ heat with dust storms. If this article is correct, the new service round- M855A1- reduces M4 reliability. It apparently chews up barrels too.
