In 12 hours the man who chose to drive like an insane maniac, killing our oldest daughter Mercedes and her sister Teja will enter a plea of Guilty or Not Guilty. We wish we could be there to look into the eyes of this man but I couldnt throw it together in such short notice although I tried. I wish the court system did not hold everyone hostage in the name of justice. I wish we could hear his account. His heart felt view of it all. But due to him facing 2 charges of Vehicular Homicide his lips are closed tight in self preservation. I pray for his soul. I pray for his family. I pray he carries the weight of his actions. I pray one day he will try, try to speak to us without it being a show for the courts at a sentencing. I pray for each and everyone of the family members of the girls who will be there in the courtroom and I cover in prayer those that will be unable to attend in body but whos hearts & spirits will wait from a far.... I can not crawl into a hole deep enough to hide from the pain. I can not hold my babies tight enough to subside the fear. I can not keep Troy Barge close enough to drown the paranoia. But every step is still a step on a long road we travel together hand and hand. -
