In 1942, the Boston Bruins had a line comprised of 3 Canadian players with German heritage. They were called the Kraut line..which wasnt exactly complimentary back at that time. Woody Dumart, Milt Schmidt and Bobby Bauer were all products of Berlin Ontario..which is now called Kitchener. When it was learned that the whole line had enlisted into the Canadian Air Force and that the game between the Bruins and the Habs would be their last before duty, the game had a wonderful twist in the end. The Bruins trounced the Canadiens 8-1 that game lead by the Kraut line. The Hab players put the 3 victorious players on their shoulders and carried them around the arena. I thought that was pretty cool...https://youtube/watch?v=rFv-i4V1a7g
