In 1956 I took a date to see him at the Rodeo Grounds. I lost her that day to him! I remember him driving onto the field in that limousine with a cop sitting on each front fender, there were cops on the bumper leaning forward with their hands on the window and a couple running beside the car in that dust on the Rodeo Grounds. The limo pulled up behind the stage and Elvis stepped out and the crowd went crazy. He fell to his knees and they went bananas. Girls started trying to get over the fence to get at him and the police were pulling them back over the fence.... Elvis was electrifying. Sonny West. Record Collector 2011
