In 1972 The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization (UNESCO) established UNESCO World Heritage sites. The program catalogues, names and conserves sites of outstanding cultural or natural importance to the common heritage of humanity. There are 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy---more than in any other country. Our August 31-September 22, 2015 tour has been customized to fit the desires of our participants. There are 6 UNESCO sites in Tuscany and we will visit them all--Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Pienza, Pisa and Val dOrcia. In addition to Tuscany sites we will visit UNESCO sites in Rome, Pompeii, Naples, Portovenere, Palmaria, Cinque Terre, Venice and the Lagoon, and villas of Veneto. We will do guided tours of major sites like the Colosseum, the Vatican, St. Marks in Venice, and Accademia to see David in Florence. We will do a dinner in a private home overlooking the sea in the Cinque Terre, visit the marble quarries used by Michelangelo, have private tours in the walled cities of Volterra and Lucca, enjoy a gondola serenade in Venice, some will experience opera in one of the foremost venues in Italy and much more..This trip is fully booked. There are 6 openings on the trip from September 23- October 9, 2015. The trip will also be customized to fit the participants. Interested? Contact us at BookNow@TuscanyToursandWineries
