In 1972, disco/funk group The Jimmy Castor Bunch featuring funk/disco saxophonist Jimmy Castor, released Troglodyte (Cave Man) off of there second album titled Its Just Begun. The song stayed the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks and sold a million copies. It was considered a novelty tune by many radio professionals and the song is noted for Castors repeated lines Gotta find a woman, Sock it to me and Ill Sock it to Ya, Daddy!!. The song and its lyrics have been sampled by many hip-hop and pop artists including Madonna and Christina Aguilera.
