In 1979, I proudly sported a Man City school bag that my dad brought back from Wembley for me in 1976, after Citys league cup win. I used to take the bag to swimming on a Monday night at Denton baths. Whilst waiting for my friends one night after getting changed, one of the pool attendants, a surly, stocky, bleached blonde twenty something wanker in sports casuals and flip flops strutted over, (remember I was 9) pointed to my bag and basically said City were shit and that we would be demoted not only from th e first division, but down to the second, then third and would be playing conference football by the time I was his age. I left the pool in tears and have never been able to speak about it until today. We didnt get demoted to the conference, but I rode that wave of despair for years and Im stronger for it and the last thing Id ever do now is use Citys status to abuse young United supporting kids. By the way mate, how are your team doing now pal? Stop crying. Grow up and start being a proper football fan instead of a tool. You must be nearly 60 now. This post isnt directed at my United supporting friends on here, just him. Dickhead.
