In 1998 he made me and my friend the late Dominic Mtumbuka (may his soul RIP) take an oath as head boys of St Patricks Seminary at the pulpit in the chapel with the HOLY BIBLE in our hands. I still remember the content of that oath and more so his address. He said young men I am training all of you to become productive members of the church and country. It starts from leadership roles like these. When you fail to deliver I will suspend you. I will call it negligence of duty. Your parents will be asking kuti wangamuchimbizga wuli mwana pa ka chifukwa nge aka. Just tell them there is a bambo who can do that. Let Jesus be your guide.....His advice as my spiritual director, during that crucial decision making meditative spiritual retreat on whether to continue with priesthood training made me appreciate the wisdom and intellect of the man. He has since been a great inspiration. And on this day, I congratulate wish him a happy silver jubilee. May God bless Bishop Martin Arnwel Mtumbuka and guide him in his apostolic mission so that in years to come, God willing, we celebrate his golden jubilee, his appointment as cardinal and why not.....the successor of Peter. Wish was there for the celebration.
