In 2 kings Chapter 21 Manasseh(forgetfull)was only 12 yrs old when he began to reign as king of Judah and reigned for 55 yrs in Jerusalem, His mothers name was Heph-zi-bah( my delight in her).Manasseh did evil in the sight of the LORD.All kinds of Abominations graven images, Provoking the LORD on purpose.made his son walk through the fire, molach practices, using enchantments and familar spirits and wizards. seduced his people into sin with his idols.And when the LORD brought the captains of Assyria and took Manasseh from among the thorns and carried him off to Babylon, Manasseh besought the LORD and Humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.And prayed unto God and God heard his prayer of repentance and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom and then Manasseh knew that the LORD was his God.That Prayer of Manasseh is written in the Apocrypha as 2Chronicles ch 33 says it is.It was in the Apocrypha in the original KJV 1611. Prayer of Manasseh O Lord, Almighty God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and of their righteous seed; who hast made heaven and earth, with all the ornament thereof; who has bound the sea by the commandment:who hast shut up the deep, and sealed it by thy terrible and glorious name and all men fear and tremble before thy power; for thy majesty of thy glory cannot be born, and thine angry threatening toward sinners is importable; but thy merciful promise is unmeasurable and unsearchable:for thou art the most High Lord of great compassion longsuffering, very merciful, and repentest of evil men, Thou, O Lord according to thy great goodness hast promised repentance and forgiveness to them that have sinned against thee, and of thine infinite mercies hast appointed repentness unto sinners, that they made be saved.Thou therefore O Lord, that art the God of the just, has not appointed repentance unto me that I am a sinner:for I have sinned above the number of the sands of the sea, my transgressions, O Lord,are multiplied;my transgressions are multiplied, and I am not worthy to behold, and see the height of heaven for the multitude of mine iniquities.I am bowed down with many iron bands, that I cannot lift up my head, neither have any release; For I have provoked thy wrath and done evil before thee: I did not thy will, neither kept thy commandments.I have set up abominations, and have multiplied offences.Now therefore I bow the knee of mine heart, beseeching thee of grace, I have sinned O Lord, I have sinned, and I acknowledge mine iniquities:wherefore I humbly beseech thee, forgive me, O Lord,forgive me, and destroy me not with mine iniquities.Be not angry with me forever, by reserving evil for me.Neither condemn me to the lower parts of the earth.For Thou art the God, even the God of them that repent, and in me thou will shew all thy goodness: For thou will save me, that am unworthy according to thy great mercy.Therefore I will praise thee forever all the days of my life: For all the powers of the heavens do praise thee, and thine is the glory forever and ever Amen. A Beautiful Prayer of repentance, and Humbling one self.Our Lord is merciful gives grace and longsuffering and He gives forgiveness to those like Manasseh who truly repence humbly.God is longsuffering and wants all to come to repentance.
