In 2004-2005 academic year, with a completely private initiative, Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College starts off with a vision of making the future generation competent to face the challenge of the 21st century and to build up unique leaders in achieving the millennium development goal through offering an advanced and modern education. The honourable chairman of Parbatya Bouddha Sangha, Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera has been fondly cherishing a dream for many years to establish an institution, beautiful in all respects and of refined culture, which will be suitable to educate the tender-hearted children of the hill indigenous community along with the children of the prudent and well-educated guardians of Mirpur in Dhaka in a humane atmosphere, irrespective of creeds but full of compassion and love. It will gradually ripen form today’s “Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College”. In establishing the college and having close agreement with the heartfelt effort to develop it into a unique and distinguished educational institution, there are 105 teachers serving here at present, who are higher degree holders from renowned universities as well as skilled, experienced and highly trained in teaching. To conduct academic activities of the college smoothly, there are a Rector, an Education advisor and a Principal who are devotedly engaged in mapping out an effective study plan following new creative method in teaching and its due implementation. In this college, from play group to twelfth class, there are 1725 students in Bangla medium and 575 students in English version who are continuously engaged in study. Here it’s worth mentioning that in 2006 H.S.C. Exam, the first batch of the college has achieved the honour to have a hundred percent pass rate. Thus the college has successfully made a place among the 22 colleges that have a credit of hundred percent pass rate in Dhaka Board. In 2007, the first batch of students of the school have earned the credit of 90% pass in the SSC exam. In 2008 SSC exam, the pass rate was 88% with 11 students achieving GPA-5. With this continuity, 94% have passed in 2009 with 13 students having obtained GPA-5 in SSC. With the continuation of this recurrent success, it seems that the college is gradually becoming a unique and prominent educational institution in the heart of the Capital Dhaka. meraj afchi somoy
