In 2009, this guy was found guilty of bird trapping using electronic bird callers. 4 years, the government appoints this former Labour MP and a licensed trapper and hunter as a consultant on wild birds regulations on a 30-hour week contract with a remuneration of €17,566 per year. I accept the reality of positions of trust but this is absurd. Its only obvious that he pushes his own agenda to remove the very rules he was caught on, reducing the fine and the possible risk of licence suspension of up to three years. I really like listening to the real singing from plovers, the Wild Birds Regulation Unit is a regulator and should not be biased. However the government got it all wrong.
