In 24 hours I leave for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. My surgery begins at about 9am and is expected to be completed around noon. My surgeon and his staff are skilled professionals and so are the folks at the hospital. I look forward to a speedy recovery and for the pain haunting me for 6 months to finally be gone. The doctors will make an incision on my neck, move everything out of the way exposing my vertebrae. The 2 bulging herniated disks in my neck putting pressure on my spinal column will be removed. That should free up space allowing my spinal column to get un-pinched. Recovery is expected to last about 3 months. A titanium plate will be screwed to my vertebrae to maintain spacing and strength. I look forward to posting an update toward the end of the week .
