In Athenry/Oranmore, the sixth count and the redistribution of Josette Farrells (FG) seats brings no new councillors, but edges Independent James Charity closer to the line on 1,562, just 39 votes short. Malachy Noone (FF), too, continues his long wait towards his inevitable election on 1,529, while party colleague Cathal Moran (1,051)and Sinn Féins Gabe Cronnelly (1,041) look likely. Fine Gaels Frank Kearney (979), Fianna Fáils Martina Kinane (965), Independent David Collins (910) will all have a say, while County Mayor Liam Carroll (FG), currently languishing on 850, will be hoping for a late miracle. Labours Clement Shevlin has been eliminated.
