In August Linda Meza introduced Suzanna and myself to Stefani Buzzard, President of No Kill Contra Costa County. At that time I learned of a petition being circulated seeking a dialogue with the County Board of Supervisors; the purpose, identify policies and resources in support of No Kill shelter practices. I offered my assistance with introducing the group to Supervisor Glover. In late September Linda and I met with Glover to discuss what Contra Costa County residents were saying theyd like to see implemented at the local shelters. We left with a commitment from Glover to help facilitate a meeting between myself, Supervisor Glover, members of NKCCC and the Director of Contra Costa Animal Services. This week we were notified of, and confirmed, October 30th as that meeting date. I support No Kill Contra Costa County. This group is not only urging the policies be changed but they are working to find solutions and funding to support this new policy.
