In Bangladesh, Faridpur Polytechnic Institute, abbreviated as FPI is one of the oldest leading Polytechnic institute in the area of mid level engineering and technology with more than 45 years of national reputation. FPI prides itself not because of its age but for the depth of its involvement in engineering and technology. For years, it has demonstrated its excellence and brilliance in teaching and training. Faridpur Polytechnic Institute operates under the executive control of Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh acting through the Directorate of Technical Education. The academic programs, however, function under the regulation of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Dhaka. From its humble beginning in 1963 as Faridpur Technical Institute reformed as Faridpur Polytechnic Institute in 1967, FPI has expanded its frontiers in various fields of engineering and technology such as Civil, Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer & Refrigeration and air-conditioning. About 2200 students are pursuing Diploma-in-Engineering studies in this Institute. Every year around 580 new student get admission. There are about 60 teachers in this Institute. FPI strive towards excellence through the practice of high quality culture in teaching and training. It aims to become a reputed Polytechnic Institute with the vision of being an academic hub that creates the intellectual capital required for the development of the nation and sustaining the growth of the country. Attention is paid to global social and cultural changes for framing the academic programme. It maintains a constant link with industries and businesses. So,the question is,What do we teach here? Well,We have six core departments and a extension department called as Non-tech.Other Core Departments are Civil Computer Electrical Mechanical Power Refrigeration and Air Conditioning And we do have our skilled teachers to teach them well.All of them listed above courses are 4-years with a validity of 8-years registration period.Since,we have started our journey,were getting improved more and more to face new challenges of consistently upgrading world.Here,we value education,we value quality.So,we try to bring the best into students life,and thats why were working on.
