In Brazil, an increasing number of mothers work to help in household income. Thus, very young children are attending day care centers. In 2009, Alaide Quercia was invited to be the godmother of one of these day care centers in the city of Pedregulho. The institution takes its name. Every year, at Christmas, the same way she does for the farm, she donates gifts for this institution and a volunteer employee, dressed as Santa Claus, distribute the toys that are, often, the only gift these children will receive that year.
