In Canada and I would assume the same for other "Commonwealth Countries" such as Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Barbados, Jamaica, etc, when you say you purchased a house or property, you are wrong. The Crown (Lizzy, Charley, Willy and now George along with the rest of the crew) own the property. The correct legal name in Canada for a house/property purchase is "Conveyance" in which the Crown conveys to you the right to use the property, not own it.
