In Chemung County, 59 New Yorkers with disabilities worked 20,871 employment hours on Preferred Source contracts in 2014. Thanks to Capabilities, Inc. and Chemung ARC for their job creation efforts. Dianna Winnie, Chemung ARC’s 2014 Joslin Outstanding Performer, is considered one of the most dependable worker trainees on Chemung ARC’s mobile work crew at Southern Tier Industries. Through the assistance of occasional job coaching, Dianna has been independently cleaning the City of Elmira Police Departments Detective Office for more than six months. She also works at other NYSID Preferred Source contracts, such as Elmira Corning Regional Airport and Finger Lakes DDSO, without needing constant direct supervision. Dianna even was featured in the stargazette / Star-Gazette.
