When it comes to gender, there are social and behavioral norms that are generally considered appropriate for either a man or a woman in a social or interpersonal relationship. I’ve always found it really interesting to think about gender stereotypes and the ‘traditional roles’ that men and women have in our culture and in our society as a whole. It’s interesting to think about all of the contributing factors that have built up the idea of what is to be a man or a woman. As much as the science and the human anatomy speaks for itself here, what interests me more is the part in which cultural and social factors have played as well as differences biological and physiological. Most cultures express two genders, some express more. There are some non-Western societies that recognize a third gender. Nothing is black and white anymore and nothing is off-limits, but whether we know it or not, as a whole we still seem to be pretty set in our ways when it comes to our views on gender.
