In December last year the Broken Hill City Council met with residents and staff of the Shorty O Neil Village about plans to close the facility in 2016. Irene Hamilton of the Agency for Advocacy, Referral and Case Management Ltd told the ABC in January that even though they are not an approved aged care provider the agency is serious about taking up management of the facility Ms Hamilton has now commenced a “Save Shorty” campaign and will join Julie Clift on Outback Outlook tomorrow morning from 8.30am 999 Broken Hill / 1584 Wilcannia
