In Inbox: AslamOAlikum. I have been a silent member of your page from many months and i keep reading different posts.Today I decided to play my part. Its Ahmed Kamal here. I am working as a Financial advisor in one of the leading firms here in UAE and I have 15 years of UAE(plus 5 years of Pakistan) experience with me . So in the light of that I want to explain something for young aspirants. It is a good thing that you people are highly motivated and want to achieve great targets in small amount of time. Maybe because of that reason every second accountant want to move towards Middle East especially Dubai because of its happy looking future. The other reason maybe is the economic crisis in Pakistan . My prime purpose of discussion here is Expo 2020 . This is the reason that most of people get motivation to travel on visit visa . Sadly I believe most of you people are misguided . There are no radical changes in financial/economic environment here in Dubai which will create thousands of new/extra jobs specially in the near future . Even if there are chances of new jobs, it will start somewhere in 2017-18 or later. My analysis is that UAE govt. misused it and created unnecessary hype. Hence made thousands of people travel to UAE. It can be a very good initiative for UAE as it will boost economic activities. Its my daily experience . I see many new comers, mostly from our part of Asia coming here on visit Visa with the hope of getting a job. The percentage of those getting hired is very less but what about others ? If we talk about Pakistan only, every week dozens of students/fresh graduates come here . Every single of them spend at least 150,000 PKR during 1 month stay (including Visa,travel expense) . Same was done by UK govt. I remember. When they flooded Asia with easy student visa and earned millions of Pounds . In a casual discussion with the HR director of our firm, he told the number of CVs received in last 8-10 months was more than 2500 and number of people recruited was not more than 30 in this time span. If Im not using strict words here. To be honest I dont see any major positive financial change here in near future, or if Im not using strict words, I see an upcoming financial crisis ( It will take too long to write the reasons and of course it is a matter of debate , so I will try to write details in few days) . remember, My purpose here is not to write against expo or govt. or anything . But I want to explain the truth . It is very good thing and will create a lot of new jobs. But it is not as fancy as it is advertised . By no means I am discouraging anyone here , but all I mean to explain is, All that glitters is not gold . you are welcome here in UAE/Dubai , But come here after proper qualification, experience and after doing some research on different job related matters. I guess its enough for today. I will try to keep writing something for this group in the future , according to my experience . I wish great luck to all the Future Accountants .
