In June this year, 7 motorcycles were ridden through some of the Worlds Highest Motorable roads through the Indian Himalayas, starting from Amritsar through Jammu and Kashmir, onwards through the Ladakh Valley passing the towns of Kargil and Leh and on to the Nubra Valley where we also rode the Bactrian camels left behind by the Silk Route caravans. We passed the top three of what is claimed to be the Worlds highest motor-able roads as we rode our Royal Enfields from Diskit in the Nubra Valley to Manali passing Sarchu and the vast expanse of Mori Plains, and the heart-stopping frozen gorges of Rohtang Pass. We encountered temperatures ranging from zero to over fifty degrees celcius and all kinds of extreme weather from scorching sun, to hail storms, sand storms, and snow. This was my fourth trip on this route but definitely the most memorable one and Im so happy to have had Sonys support for this film which I shot using 6 Action Cams. Couldnt have had this experience recorded if it wasnt for the amazing stability and durability of these little monsters! - Shot by Suzanne Lee and Sanjit Das Photography, edited by Panos Pictures; for Sony - Power of Imaging Southeast Asia
