TO : FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES, PARTNERS RE : Assistance for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda Our hearts go out to all the victims of the catastrophic damage in our country caused by the strongest typhoon in the world. We are touched by the outpouring of support from our friends, partners, associates here and abroad, asking how we are and how they can help. Our factory is located in Marikina City, and fortunately, was spared by the Typhoon. The immediate need in the affected areas are food, water, and medicines. One of the areas directly hit by the typhoon is the northern tip of the island of Cebu. Due to poor and limited communication and access, the actual damage is hard to determine. However, from the pictures of the more accessible islands like Leyte and Samar, we know that the damage is extensive, reaching unimaginable loss of lives and livelihood. Armscor has tied up with the leading radio station in Cebu, Y101, and our Armscor Shooting Center Branch in Cebu. The newly constructed Armscor Shooting Center indoor shooting range is being used as a drop off point for relief goods, as well as a packing area of goods for distribution. Due to the limited personnel there, and the difficulty of purchasing there the items needed, we have decided to do the purchasing in Manila, and packing in our factory in Marikina. We have arranged for the transport of these ready-for-distribution packages to Cebu. Tonight, we finished over a thousand packs for shipment tomorrow. Each pack consists of water, rice, canned goods, instant noodle cups, biscuits, and candles. We will also be sending medicines and first aid needs.
