In Matthew6v13, we see one of the phrases in the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray then, that they should ask God not to lead them into temptation. Yet He Himself was driven by the Holy Spirit to be tempted of the devil, Mark1v12-13, and Apostle James told the believers to count it all joy when they fall into divers temptations, James1v2. The disciples were by then mere natural man who could not withstand the devil who was their father by then, because they still had his nature, remember the Seed (Jesus Christ) had not yet died to produce many after His likeness, John12v24. But to the one who is born in the likeness of Christ every temptation he or she faces is a joy for it is promotion as he or she overcomes it. Remember 1Corinthians10v12-13, it is clear that there is no temptation that you face that can overcome you, it is a test that will come until you pass it. The way you escape is not to run from it but rather to rise above the level of that temptation. Once you rise to grade 2 level it means you have overcome all grade 1 tests. Never pray against temptations, for they work for you, they come to promote you. Do not be afraid for if you are in Christ you are an overcomer forever, all you need is to keep getting His wisdom in you. For once you overcome at that level you rise above it, and the new level will come with its own temptations.
