In McLennan County 2,288 votes were cast in the Democratic Primary in the race for governor (2,053 for Wendy Davis). By contrast, 11,067 votes were cast in the Republican Primary in the race for governor (10,498 for Greg Abbott). Statewide, 546,480 votes were cast by Democrats in the governors race. Republicans received 1,333,010 votes in the governors race. That makes 1,879,490 total votes in the primary elections for governor. Some observations: 13,100 total votes in McLennan County is pathetic. 71% of votes cast in the primary race were on the Republican side of the ticket. Battleground Texas got dismantled, beat up, chewed up, and spit out last night.... Fewer people voted in either primary than live in Dallas County... And were a big state, yall.... With one exception, everyone I voted for either won or is leading their runoff... Candidates endorsed or supported by Ted Cruz generally led their races... He might be a pariah in D.C., but hes a hero in Texas!
