† In Memory - Jan 10: ***1976 – Howlin Wolf, American singer-songwriter and guitarist (b. 1910) Chester Arthur Burnett (June 10, 1910 – January 10, 1976), known as Howlin Wolf, was an American blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player. With a booming voice and looming physical presence, he is one of the best-known Chicago blues artists. Musician and critic Cub Koda noted, no one could match Howlin Wolf for the singular ability to rock the house down to the foundation while simultaneously scaring its patrons out of its wits; producer Sam Phillips added When I heard Howlin Wolf, I said, This is for me. This is where the soul of man never dies. Burnetts health declined in the late 1960s through 1970s. He suffered several heart attacks and in 1970 his kidneys were severely damaged in an automobile accident. He died at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois on January 10, 1976 from complications of kidney disease. O:) https://youtube/watch?v=RBd4PPZV6QI
