In Northern Ireland, the Orange Order celebrates the victory of Protestant King William of Orange over Catholic King James on July 12th every year. The treaty that separated Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland in the south stipulated that the north can always join the Republic if the majority wills it. Some in Northern Ireland use July 12th to exhibit their unwillingness to join the Republic. In this case, the plan apparently was to burn the tricolor flag of the Republic in a huge bonfire. Unfortunately, someone got the tricolor flag of the Ivory Coast, which is orange, white, and green from left to right, mixed up with the tricolor of the Republic, which is green, white, and orange from left to right. LOL.
