In October 2013, 911 Media Arts Center of Seattle closed its doors for the last time after nearly 30 years of providing education, tools, support, and exhibition space for digital media artists, students, filmmakers and videographers. Fast forward to now October 2014, it being a year later we felt it was time to inform, recommend and change. We recommend Seattle Film Institute to people seeking film making/videography classes, digital editing and effects classes. For folks looking for digital art and experimental art classes, the DXARTS - Center for Digital Art and Experimental Media program at the UW. And for gear rentals, DARGA Media Group for your film making/videography projects. A popular program of the Center remains. Open Screening continues to be hosted by long-time 911 Media volunteer Greg Gould, and is presented at Seattle Film Institute In the coming weeks this page (911 Media) will be merged with the Open Screening page to become one combined Facebook page. The new page will be Open Screening. This page will be here to share information locally, nationally and internationally in the digital media arts world.
