In October I called United Airlines to cancel one part of a round trip flight for Dennis Powers and myself. I was considering just not showing for this paid flight but called to inquire the change fee. I was told the fee would be $40 and I would have two credits of $127 for future use. I agreed and then I received my credit card bill. The fee was now $400!! When I called to dispute this charge I asked why would I spend $400 to save 250?? No one could answer that and i was repeatedly told that they dont do anything for $40. They also could not locate the Russian lady who told me the fee was $20 each. I have flown United Airlines thousands of miles over the past year which was of no concern to their customer service person. I tried to dispute the charge but the credit card is also through United Airlines. I am posting this at the suggestion of my daughter on the hopes that social media will have some impact on this unfair situation. If I choose to redeem my credit a one way ticket will now cost $327. Robbed by United Airlines!
