In Remembrance, I sadly announce the passing of my best friend and devoted wife of 39 years, Jane Mary Williams Brikowski, NHS class of 1974. She peacefully departed this life after a lengthy illness on June 7, 2014 with me at her side and loving family close by her. She is predeceased by her parents, Frederick & Eleanor Williams, and her sister, Joanne Williams. Jane grew up in Neptune and later lived in Forked River attending OCC. In some of her most rewarding career endeavors, Jane worked with either school children or by assisting the elderly. Among other positions held, she also worked as a talented, self-employed, artisan traveling throughout New Jersey displaying her fine stained glass craftwork. Jane was an avid animal lover and cared deeply for her many pets; she could sometimes be found at the local animal rescue or shelter volunteering her services to help care for mistreated animals and forgotten pets. In 1998, we relocated to Silk Hope, NC so to better treat her medical condition. In 2001, she was the recipient of a double lung transplant required due to a genetic condition, Alpha-1. (alpha1.org). Jane recently succumbed to complications arising from her transplant anti-rejection medications while at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. A private reception and ceremony for family was held in Neptune at Ely Funeral Home. Jane was a delightful person and through her efforts always helped to make the world a better place. Janie is greatly missed by her friends and loved ones, but always lives eternal in our hearts and memories.
