In Support of the Neighborhoods Near Stony Point Mall_ Below is background from the Huguenot Farms Area Association concerning the proposed Stony Point CUP: -As many of you know, there is currently before the City Planning Commission a developer’s proposal to amend the existing Stony Point Community Use Plan (CUP) to permit the construction of 282 units of attached residencies varying from 2 to 4 stories in height on a 27.7 acre parcel west of the Chippenham Parkway, south of Cherokee Road, and East of Saratoga Road (designated Northern L). That parcel is currently zoned for office park and related retail use (such as restaurants) only. After careful consideration of the developer’s proposal, the Huguenot Farms Area Association board and officers are recommending to the Planning Commission at its meeting this coming Monday at 1:30pm that the proposal as written be rejected.
