In a capitalist economic system, a business corporations only goal is to make money for its shareholders. It gains as many consumers as can in order to make money for its shareholders. It hires people *if* doing so will make money for its shareholders. The notion that a business operates or should operate for any other reason than benefiting the shareholders is part of the long-term miseducation of America people--a method of demonizing capitalism without actually naming *that* goal.
