In a democratic society every individual has the right to his or her opinion. The US diplomats statements are his personal and independent opinion. His opinion is based on his experience and observation. Indian Govt. is being to naive in blaming or holding the US Govt. responsible. Instead of taking offense to what the US diplomat stated India should actually take the trouble to check and verify how much truth is in whatever he has said. It has been more than 60years that India has been a free country and a democratic society. YET WHY IS INDIA CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE POOREST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD. Why is it that India boasts about its CULTURAL HERITAGE yet the people of India are so influenced and so impressed with the WESTERN CULTURE and LIFE STYLE? Just by wearing the western outfits and by behaving like the people of the west you will not be considered as CIVILIZED AND CULTURED. If you do want to adopt then why not learn about the morals and humanitarian considerations which is practiced by the west? It is easy to retaliate and pass derogatory remarks in protest of some one elses comments about you. But why do they come up? THERE IS NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE. There has to be some truth which has fed his mind with such notions and understandings about the way most poor and less fortunate Indians live their lives. Indian Government is spending so much money to go to the MOON and MARS etc but what are they doing to lift up peoples life and social status. WHATEVER THE US DIPLOMAT HAS SAID, INDIA CITIZENS HAVE BEEN CRYING AND SAYING THE SAME THINGS FOR AGES BUT NOTHING HAS EVER CHANGED IN INDIA. JUST BECAUSE IT IS COMING FROM SOME ONE NOT INDIAN INDIAN GOVERNMENT IS ACTING SO DEFFENSIVE AND MAKING IT SUCH A BIG DEAL? IF SOME BODY HAS SAID SOMETHING THAT IS INSULTING OR HUMILIATING THEN IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT IT IS THE FAULT OF THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT THAT THEY GAVE THEM A REASON TO UNDERSTAND IT THAT WAY AND FORM AN OPINION OF THIS NATURE. TRUTH IS BITTER. IF YOU CANNOT BEAR IT THEN WORK HARDER AND DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE IT. INDIA IS NOT ACTING SANELY AND IS OVER REACTING AND IS UNNECESSARILY JEOPARDIZING ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH USA.
