In a recent Facebook post I mentioned how annoyed I was with multiple references to genitalia in a new “family” sitcom on ABC, Back in the Game, a show destined for failure. I have a complicated view on that sort of thing. I am no prude. In fact, I am rather on the other end of that spectrum as anyone who knows me well can attest. The problem for me is all about appropriateness of time and place. Also, I am really tired of dick jokes. It boils down to this; the traditional broadcast networks, ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox have no business putting that kind of crap in what used to be regarded as the family hour, 8-9 Eastern, 7-9 central. That should be left for later hours or the premium cable channels. By the way, I am really tired of dick jokes. I used to watch Two and a Half Men until that tiresome locker room mook talk just wore me out. I remember thinking, “If one of them says ‘boner’ one more time and it isn’t about Fred Merkle of the 1908 New York Giants, I am done with this series.” Sure enough, one of them did, and I was done; haven’t seen it since. Did I mention I am really tired of dick jokes? Why yes, I believe I did.
