In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law. The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama’s blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff. When Congress passed the health reform law known as Obamacare in 2010, an amendment required that lawmakers and their staff members purchase health insurance through the online exchanges that the law created. They would lose generous coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. That’s just a tad bit infuriating. “There’s something, I don’t know, deep, deep, deep inside of me that makes me care about a bunch of weasels sorry about a group of individuals who are just like us and they care so deeply about our country, that could go to Washington and by hook and by crook and through closed door backroom deals jam something down our throats that we don’t want and then in the last hour make a special exception because they can’t function while spending our money out of control,” Glenn said. “I’m telling you right now, these people are out of control and they have to be stopped. And if you if they raise the debt ceiling, if this country can’t find its way to each other, good, decent Americans of all walks of life, of all color, of all creed, of all parties, if we can’t see the insanity, if we can’t see the corruption and if we can’t see them for what they claim to be, their lordships and ladies and we can’t say “We’ll fund every bit of this government, we’ll fund every last dime of this government, but we will not (loss of audio) so mired in regulation that you had to add extra people just to keep you in check with the law because of these mindless regulations, they can’t make it work, but you have to or you’re fined or you go to jail. If we can’t find our way to each other and say, “I’m not funding that, I’m not funding that, and I’m not buying into your bullcrap anymore.” If you can’t find your way into a 9/12 project, if you can’t find your way into a TEA Party, if you can’t find your way into the democratic headquarters, as a good Democrat and say, “I’ve had enough of this,” if you can’t do it, we’re done. We’re done.” GLENN BECK
