In a single-payer health care system, there is a huge influx of demand for health care since it’s “free” (people pay for it with enormously high taxes), but there’s a lack of supply of doctors and nurses since there’s no profit motive, meaning no incentive to enter the field of medicine. So naturally, the only way to acquiesce to this is for hospitals to have to ration health care, meaning longer waiting lines and more people being denied treatment.
