In a special report today, WSPY has learned that the Kendall County Sheriffs Office was only pursuing $7,735 in per diems from current and former county board members. Thats about $38,000 less than what the states attorneys office has told them they owe. That larger figure also includes mileage and meetings that the sheriffs office did not believe were clear enough to prove violations. Even the forensic audit was unable to determine whether the board members deserved to claim many of those meetings. The $7.735 consists of more obvious mistakes, like double counting meetings, claiming more than one meeting on a single day, or claiming a meeting that didnt happen. It averages out to about 2 mistakes per board member per year.
